an incredible anniversary in Puerto Vallarta

Five years of marriage seems to have flown on by, and David and I certainly thought it was worth celebrating.  As usual, our insane schedules conspired against us, so it wasn’t until several weeks after our actual anniversary that we headed off to sunny beautiful Puerto Vallarta. But we had the loveliest, most relaxing stay at Casa Kimberly, and it was beyond worth the wait.

new new and old faithful- skincare faves from Neutrogena

This post is brought to you in partnership with Neutrogena, a brand I’ve used and loved for years. But as always, all opinions are my own, and I don’t share anything I don’t love. Thanks in advance for supporting the brands that make LoveRavayna possible.

I remember being 13 years old.  My family lived in a little suburb about an hour outside New York, and if I did all my chores and made good grades, I earned $20 per week as allowance.  Even then, I was fascinated by beauty and skincare, and spent the majority of the money I made on makeup and masks, lotions and potions- often at the Rite Aid just down the street. Then, Seventeen and Teen magazines were my info sources, and they turned me on to Neutrogena products.  Affordable, accessible, and effective, I bought them frequently- and some things never change.

blush and black

If you’ve hung around here more than a minute, you know I am all about the pretty pink shades- on clothes, lips and nails and even on my head. Blush and bashful really are my favorite colors, but I love grounding them with black for wintertime looks, like this one, brought to you in partnership with my friends at Zaful.

a skincare soirée

You all know how seriously I take my skincare, and how important it is to me that it not only feel luxurious, but also be effective. I like science behind my skincare. So I was super excited to have an opportunity to host some of my favorite blogger girlfriends and get to introduce them to the loveliness that is Thann skincare, a line that hails from Thailand.

holiday greens

When it comes to holiday attire, I tend to shy away from the typical. Perhaps it’s that our family doesn’t celebrate Christmas, but the red and white that is everywhere this time of year doesn’t really ring my bells. For me, holiday fancies hinge on luxurious textures and festive textiles, and I lean towards blue, green, and metallics.

silver sparkle at NYFW

One of my favorite days at New York Fashion Week was full of some longtime favorites.  In all of the newness and madness, there is something extra lovely about the hint of familiarity that comes from a longtime brand affection, and a day with styling by the Drybar, the BCBG Max Azria presentation, and the Sherri Hill runway show at Gotham Hall was just that.

a night at NYFW

Checking in from NYFW!

This week is positively nutty, in the best possible way. For me, it’s been a circus of early mornings and late nights, shows and events and meetings, and treating a parade of Ubers and yellow cabs like mobile offices, dressing rooms, and nap pods. And y’all- it couldn’t be more exhilarating.
