We have teamed up with Wells Fargo this summer! Thank you for supporting the companies that make LoveRavayna possible.
If you’ve been around LoveRavayna for more than a minute, you know that New Orleans will always be where my heart calls home. I may have only lived there for ten years, but it’s where I came of age, found myself and my future. David and I met in college there, got married there, and since Asher was born, I had dreamed of taking him home to meet his family and learn his roots.
He was a low key lovebug on his first flight, and it set the tone for the rest of the trip. He was such a sport- we had lots of places to go and people for him to meet, and he was so good natured about it, and especially easy about napping on the go, which was one of my biggest worries. I was all mushy and insisted we take him to campus where we met, as well as to the hotel we’d been married at. And as we rode the streetcar, you’d have thought it was a roller coaster the fun Asher had!
As we always do when we travel, we use our Wells Fargo Propel® Card, so we can reap all the benefits. It’s so nice to have the flexibility to stay in any hotel, or choose a homestay and still be able to maximize the rewards earned- we did both this trip, along with staying with family for a bit. We also earn 3X rewards points on eating out and ordering in, so we definitely benefited. Even though we had a kitchen in the guest house we stayed in, we only really used it to make bottles for Asher- there’s so many delish spots on New Orleans that it was hard to fit them into one trip!
But one was a nonnegotiable- I had to take my sweet boy to eat his first beignet. They’re squares of freshly fried dough, blizzarded with powdered sugar and they are a right of passage for a Nola baby. It was the first time we’d let Ashe have anything sugary, and he was beside himself with glee. Don’t believe me? See for yourself!
I swear, these might be some of my fave pics of Asher ever! Feeling so grateful that we got to see the familiar places we love and introduce them to our sweet boy- New Orleans will always be home.
xoxo, Ravayna
