Because our schedules can be so crazy day to day, a strictly scheduled routine can be hard to abide by. What we’ve found to work so far is little routines that are flexible, time-wise. Asher
knows what to expect when they start; that at bedtime, for example, after his lotion and sleepsack, comes a book, then his lullaby, then his crib. We’ve got a little routine for almost everything that happens around here on a daily basis.
From Asher’s first appointment, his doctor suggested probiotics to help strengthen his gut and develop the good bacteria he needs in his digestive tract. So, he gets his dose as part of his wake-up routine. I scoop him from the crib once I hear him stir, and I sing “Here Comes the Sun” to him as we open up his blinds. Some mornings we sit and rock, others we curl up in our bed, or with a blanket on his rug. I give him his probiotics, feed him, and if I’m lucky, he falls right back asleep so I can snooze too, get some work done, or run to the gym.
Several mama friends recommended Mommy’s Bliss products when I asked for probiotic suggestions. When I started looking into them, it was reassuring to learn that all their products are pure, simple, effective, gentle and have been used to soothe delicate little systems for generations, with ingredients like ginger, fennel, and chamomile.
Asher’s appetite is insatiable lately, and occasionally that can complicate things. A big feeding will sometimes make him fussy when it comes to going down for his nap, but a little bit of Mommy’s Bliss Gripe Water normally helps. It’s honestly so hard for me when he fusses, he’s such a smiley little guy that it’s out of character and so heartbreaking. When it first started happening, I felt so helpless — it’s not like he can communicate the issue, so I was guessing.
When my own mama suggested gripe water, I was so relieved to spot the Mommy’s Bliss brand and know I could trust it would help Asher. It really settles his tummy so well, and he thinks it’s
so tasty!
Mommy’s Bliss also crafts other products that our pediatrician suggested we keep on hand including Gas Relief Drops and Constipation Ease. At the risk of TMI, Asher roots and toots with the enthusiasm and regularity of a grown man, and we’ve not had need for the Gas Relief Drops or Constipation Ease just yet. But I’ve got them in his dresser when and if, so I won’t have to frantically research when Asher’s already struggling, and will be able to
effectively soothe him immediately. And honestly, David probably needs the gas drops more.
I really do love a good routine, and it’s been really effective to have them set in place in a way that helps us keep our sweet nugget as happy and healthy as possible.
Xoxo RAVAYNA
